BIOGRAPHY:

Lourdes Rugge was born and raised in Mexico City and has lived for the past 14 years in a small town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in California. She has 15 years experience as a wildlife biologist. She developed her career working on Rasa Island as part of the team that generated the conservation and management plan for the seabird populations of the Islands in the Sea of Cortez. Her main research work included demography and breeding success of the Heemann's gulls and elegant terns in Baja California, including research on Seabirds as indicators of important fish populations in the Gulf of California.

Lourdes Rugge, Finance Committee ChairCurrently, Ms. Rugge works for ECORP Consulting, Inc., an environmental consulting company in Northern California. In the last ten years she has worked for this company conducting freshwater fish and stream bio-assessments for permitting of water development projects, including FERC Exhibit E documentation (hydroelectric relicensing). Ms. Rugge has been instrumental in the development of the study plans for the Feather (PG&E) and the American River (EID) fish studies. She has been the International Chairperson for the American Fisheries Society (AFS) California-Nevada Chapter since 2006 and was instrumental in the development of the chapter of the AFS in Mexico. She is the current AFS International Fisheries Section president.
