Duties:
Collect, archive, and distribute
genetic tissue samples from Central Valley
Chinook salmon and steelhead. Duties require
travel to various Central Valley hatcheries
and creeks, database entry and management, preparation and dissemination of samples
to research facilities, cataloging of samples, and general office duties.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Equivalent to completion of two years of college with
a minimum of 10 semester hours in biological or chemistry sciences.
or
One
year of experience in surveying, studying or evaluating fish or wildlife
populations, data habitats or users, or working in a
chemistry laboratory.
and
Possession of a valid California driver's license.
Additional
Desirable Qualifications:
Interest in
fisheries conservation and management issues. Good lab skills. Aptitude for detail; good
organizational skills; personal initiative and the ability to work
independently. Familiarity
with Microsoft applications.
